In February 2012, we decided on a change of life. Having been settled for 20 years just north of Lot-et-Garonne, we sold our house. In the meantime, Laurence went alone by bike on the way of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle from her home to Aroue. Her experience made Patrice and Julia (our 10-year-old daughter at the time) want to go on this adventure too.
In August 2013, the three of us cycled from Condom to St Jean Pied de Port, making the journey in stages with the same mileage as the pilgrims on foot to share the experience with them as much as possible.
In March 2014, after a lot of research of the many towns on the various different pilgrim routes, we found a house in the town centre of Éauze, in a district in the midst of redevelopment.
In May 2014, Patrice went on a pilgrimage by foot, from his native village (just outside Éauze) to the foot of the Pyrenees.
In mid-July 2014, the three of us set off again, doing Le Puy en Velay-Figeac by bike.
From September 2014 to March 2015, we set about working to bring the house in Éauze back to life, after it had been uninhabited for 18 years.
We hope that you will have a pleasant time here, recharging your batteries before a new start.
